Natural sweetener for food and beverages. Grows 60-80cm. Will not tolerate temperatures below 15 degrees C. Stevia is native to South America where it has been used for 1500 years as a sweetener for medicinal drinks. It contains stevioside, which is up to 300 times sweeter than sugar and can be used fresh, dried, powdered or as a liquid to sweeten food and drinks. The plant is attractive with toothed, alternate leaves on woody stems and produces white flowers in late summer.
