Liriope muscari - Lily Turf 14cm

Liriope muscari, or Lily Turf, is a classic evergreen perennial with arching, strap-like green foliage and upright spikes of violet-purple flowers in late summer to autumn, followed by dark berries. Clumps expand slowly and are not invasive, making Lily Turf a popular choice for mass plantings and dotting throughout mixed borders, and its slow-spreading habit makes it great for potted plants or lining pathways.

It grows well in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil, tolerates dry shade once established, and benefits from cutting back old foliage in early spring to encourage fresh growth. Grows well in coastal sites, and can easily tolerate sandy or subpar soils if necessary - just be sure to keep an eye on it while establishing.

Liriope muscari can be vulnerable to snails and slugs, which hide in the dense foliage and strip leaves of their tissue.
