A perennial grass, grows to 1m. Lemongrass leaves have a strong lemon flavour and fragrance. Use for hot tea, cold lemonade, bouquet garni, or the tender stems and bulb-like roots can be chopped finely and cooked in curries or to make a marinade for fish and Asian dishes. Can be grown in containers or garden beds.

Sow spring summer and early autumn, all year round in frost-free areas.
