A cultivar that makes an excellent large shrub or small tree, with good tolerance and colour. Flowers are a delightful fuchsia-pink to reddish hue, borne in massive panicles from mid-summer to early autumn, bring the garden multiple months of stunning floral excellence. Foliage contrasts nicely with blooms, dark green during the summer months, and has a good bronze tinge when young. Autumn foliage colour is stunning, a bright reddish-maroon shade, keeping seasonal interest high even after blooms have ceased. Exfoliating cinnamon-coloured bark gives winter an element of visual interest too, revealing light, creamy underbark as it flakes away. Form is good, compact and rounded, almost ball-shaped. Branches are multi-stemmed and densely packed. Excellent specimen tree for smaller outdoor areas, such as parks and gardens, and can be planted in large pots and containers for a variety of purposes.
