Waratah 'Shady Lady White' 14cm

Telopea 'Shady Lady White' is an evergreen, compact large shrub with dark green leathery leaves and profusions of large, pure-white flowers in spring. 'Shady Lady White's' flowers are great for attracting native birds to the garden and for creating a safe haven. This spectacular hybrid waratah (Telopea speciosissima x T. oreades) is a fantastic, low-maintenance addition to native and wildlife-friendly gardens, as well as pot and container gardens.

Once the flowers have finished, prune the plant back 2-4 inches to encourage healthy new growth to emerge.

Plant in well-drained, low-pH soils. Moderate water requirements once established; be sure to keep soil moist during periods of extended heat and dry. Keep the plant well watered for the first 2 years for it to establish. While this plant can tolerate full sun, it thrives in a position which is sheltered from the extreme hot afternoon sun in summer. Moderate frost tolerance. Only use fertiliser designed for Australian natives with waratahs, as it provides plants with all the nutrients and support necessary.
