Protea neriifolia 'Australis Ruby' – 14cm Pot

A hardy, small-medium, evergreen shrub with slightly fury, dark green leaves supported by a red stem. 'Australis Ruby' produces large, dark ruby-pink, feathery flowers with white and black tips in late autumn and winter. Use in mass plantings, general landscaping, coastal gardens, pots or as a low hedge. Excellent cut flower.

Requires well-drained soils, will not grow in alkaline or boggy/clay. Protea 'Australis Ruby' needs to be watered well during the first 2 years for the plant to establish. Low water requirements once established, and a great addition to waterwise gardens and landscapes. Moderate frost tolerance.

Planting Tips:
When planting Proteaceae plants they don’t require too much work to get them settled. Fertiliser in the prime growing seasons, spring and early autumn for the best results. However, make sure to use the right food. If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small.
