Buxus suffruticosa Dutch Box is a small, slow-growing and sturdy evergreen shrub with small rounded deep green leaves. Useful for low hedges, borders or topiary and can be grown in pots. Low water requirements once established, the plant will benefit from soaking of water during dry spells. The Dutch Box can tolerate coastal conditions and frost. During winter foliage can be subject to turning a copper colour, the application of Garden Lime around the base of the plant will counteract this and the plant will revert to a green colour in spring.
