A compact, rounded shrub with aromatic, silver-tinged foliage and rich deep-violet flower heads with purple “ruffled” bracts that cover the plant after its main spring flush. It thrives in full sun (to part shade) and prefers well-drained soils, tolerant of dry spells once established.
