Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens' (Black Mondo Grass) – 10cm

A striking ornamental grass-like plant with deep black, strap-like foliage that provides dramatic contrast in garden designs. Its dense, clumping habit makes it ideal for edging, mass plantings, or as a bold accent in mixed borders and containers. During summer, small spikes of lilac flowers appear, followed by glossy black berries, adding further seasonal interest. Hardy and low-maintenance, 'Mondo Black' tolerates a range of soils, is drought-resistant once established, and performs well in shaded plantings, as well as sunny spots sheltered from harsh afternoon sun.
